How to replace cartridges in ES2- 3 stage undersink water filter

This guide will walk you through the process of replacing the cartridges in your Great Water Elite Series 1,  3-stage undersink water filter system

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  • New replacement cartridges (Sediment Filter, Carbon Block Filter, Alkaline Filter)
  • A bucket or towel to catch any drips

Step 1: Isolate the Water Supply

  1. Locate the isolation valve under your sink. This valve controls the water supply to your filter system.
  2. Turn the valve to the "OFF" position. This will stop water from flowing to the filter.

Step 2: Depressurise the System

  1. Turn on the dedicated filter tap on your sink.

  2. Allow the remaining water to drain out. This will release any pressure built up in the system and make it easier to remove the old cartridges.

Step 3: Remove the Old Cartridges

  1. Working one at a time, grab a cartridge and twist it clockwise, just like you would with a lightbulb.

  2. Pull the cartridge down and out of the filter head. Be prepared for a small amount of water to leak out.

  3. Dispose of the old cartridge in the landfill bin.

Step 4: Install the New Cartridges

  1. Take the new cartridges and ensure you are installing them in the correct order. The cartridges are typically numbered or labelled for easy identification.

    • Cartridge 1 (Left): Sediment Filter

    • Cartridge 2 (Middle): Carbon Block Filter

    • Cartridge 3 (Right): Alkaline Filter

  2. Align the top of the new cartridge with the filter head.

  3. Push the cartridge up and into the head, then twist it anticlockwise until it is securely in place.

Step 5: Restore Water Supply and Flush the System

  1. Once all the new cartridges are installed, turn the isolation valve under your sink back to the "ON" position.

  2. Turn on the filter tap and allow the water to run for 15-30 minutes to flush the new cartridges. This removes any fine carbon particles and air from the system.

  3. After 15-30 minutes, turn off the filter tap.

You have now successfully replaced the cartridges in your Great Water Elite Series 2, 3-stage water filter! Enjoy another year of great-tasting, pure water.
